There was an historical beat at Karl Lagerfeld’s pre-summer 13 showing, with the clothes looking to pre-revolutionary France. Formal 18th century pannier skirts, lace ruffles and bloomer shorts created an exaggerated silhouette, in a soft, feminine palette of pastel tones and cool blues.
